How to interface Beckman Coulter DxH 500 Series with LabXpert Automation

LabXpert Automation connects with the DxH 500 Series via TCP/IP using the ASTM communication protocols.

You must install the application on a computer connected to the machine via a network. This guide assumes you have already installed the LabXpert Automation application and added the DxH 500 Series. See How to interface lab equipment with LabXpert Automation for more information.

For more information about interfacing with the DxH Series refer to the following manuals;

  1. DxH 500 Series Host Transmission Manual
  2. DxH 500 Instructions for Use

Configuring Communication

Under settings, select LIS to access the LIS setup screen

  1. Ensure "Auto transmit - Patient" is enabled
  2. Ensure "Transmit DIFF Scatterplot" and "Transit RBC & PLT Histogram" are enabled
  3. Under Communication Protocol, ensure "Enable Host" and "Ethernet" are enabled

Under Communication Protocol, select Communication Setup and edit the following settings under Ethernet Communication

  1. Under Host settings
    1. Set "Protocol" to TCP/IP
    2. Set "Address" and "Port" to match what is displayed on the Automation app
  2. Under Analyzer Settings, you need to assign the analyzer an IP address. It is recommended to simply enable DHCP. Otherwise, you can assign it an IP address on your network that isn't already taken along with the appropriate Mask and Gateway

Sending Results

Assuming you have enabled Auto-transmit, results will be automatically sent to the Automation app. However, if you need to send a result manually, under Patient results, select the result and select the Transmit button as shown below
